Three injured in Somo car crash

Posted on June 10th, 2010 No Comments

In the town of Somo, in Lincoln County, a crash left three people injured.

The Lincoln County’s Sheriff County described the incident as a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday around 3:50 p.m. on Highway 8 at Garvin’s Place. After the two cars hit each other, one continued off of the road, eventually resting after hitting both a tree and telephone pole. An investigation is still underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

After Tomahawk’s firefighters aided two trapped people in the car that struck the tree and pole, a third was able to exit the vehicle unassisted. The driver of that car was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital via helicopter. It was announced that the driver’s injuries, although serious enough to warrant the air-lift, were not life threatening injuries. The two other passengers in that car sustained minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle suffered no substantial injuries.
