Lake crash arouses police suspicion

A potential Wausau reckless driving accident in which a woman drove into a lake has drawn the suspicions of local police.

The 63-year-old woman from Wausau removed from her truck from Moraine Lake in the township of Harrison Lake. She was accompanied by her 23-year-old son, who was responsible for pulling her from the water. The police received the emergency call just prior to 5 a.m. on June 6.

Although Lincoln County authorities have the results of an autopsy, they are not releasing those results. Some are worried that making public the findings would compromise the currently on-going investigation. Police said that they did intend on releasing the toxicology reports either this Friday or some time next week.

The woman’s son was taken to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where he was treated for his injuries sustained during the incident.
