Posted on July 28th, 2010 No Comments

A police minivan was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Wausau Monday.

According to officials with the Wausau Police Department, an unmarked minivan used by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a crash at the intersection of Sight and Washington streets in Wausau shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday. Lt. Jim Wadinski says a pickup truck, driven by 27 year-old Mark Malinowski, of Auburndale, ran a red light and struck the minivan.

No one was injured in the crash, but both the minivan and pickup truck were damaged. Malinowski was cited for failing to stop at a red signal light.

The minivan is used by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department to serve process paperwork.

Luckily no one was injured in this crash, but all too often these preventable car accidents can result in serious personal injury.
