Two people from Wausau were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in the town of Easton.

According to officials with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of Highways J and N. Police say a GMC truck was traveling north on Highway J and did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection, striking a westbound Ford Escape SUV on Highway N. The truck came to rest on its side after the crash and the SUV sustained heavy front-end damage.

The Easton Fire Department, Everest Metro Police and deputies from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene. One person in each vehicle was injured and both were transported by ambulance to an area hospital, according to authorities.

No information about the drivers or their injuries was immediately available.
